To the sheriffs of London. Writ of supersedeas omnino, and order by mainprise of William Chitterne of Wiltesir, John Vyncent of Sussex, Robert Wastille of Gloucestershire and William Walworth of London to set free Isabel Walsyngham, if taken at suit of the king and Richard Pepyn for leaving the service of Richard Pepyn contrary to the ordinance.

To the mayor and sheriffs of London. Order at a day of which the justices shall give them notice to cause the record and process of a cause in the city court before the late sheriffs without writ of the king between John Scardeburgh clerk and the abbot of Whitby for a debt of 120 marks, which are with the mayor and sheriffs it is said, and all that concerns the same, to come before the said justices at the church of St. Martin le Grand London, and to the sheriffs to give the plaintiff notice to be there that day to hear any error found therein or in the rendering of judgment, and writ of supersedeas in respect of executing such judgment while the business of error is pending without debate, if the abbot shall find security to prosecute that writ, and if 120 marks and the damages to the plaintiff adjudged shall be by the abbot lodged with the mayor and sheriffs to be kept; as error has crept into the record and process and the rendering of judgment in that cause, as the king has learned by complaint of the abbot, and willing that the same be corrected, he has appointed William Gascoigne, Hugh Huls and William Hankeford justices to examine the same at the said church in presence of the mayor and sheriffs, and to correct any error therein found.

Writ of supersedeas, and order by mainprise of Alexander Tervyn 'sergeant,' John Godeyere 'copirsmyth,' John Doncastelle 'copirsmyth' and John Est 'vestmentmakere,' all of London, to set free Hugh Streynger chaplain, if taken in default of finding mainpernors that he shall not repair to any foreign parts without special licence of the king, nor there make any suit or attempt which may tend to contempt or prejudice of the king or hurt of the people.

Release of all actions, plaints, suits, claims and demands by reason of divers goods and merchandise of his hereinafter mentioned, reserving his action by reason of the said 'hulke,' which is not yet delivered to him, reciting that the said goods etc. to wit 38½ [ (fn. 1) ] of wax price 100l. 8s., 35 boards called 'delys' price 46s. 8d., a chest with divers garments therein price 60s., coined money in that chest to the value of 16l. 13s. 4d., and a basynet and broken silver price 53s. 4d. laded in the said 'hulke' were taken at sea between England and Seland by divers men, hired soldiers, in divers ships of England, and were parted among them by lot (sortita et lottata), and that Nicholas Wotton and Richard Rowe owners of a ship called 'la Elene' of London, Robert fitz Robert, William Brekespere, Walter Gawetroun, Walter Cherteseye and the owners being fitters out (existentes pro victualibus) of that ship, William Totham owner of 'la Margarete' of London, Walter Gawtroun, John Canoun, Richard Merlowe and John Rynewelle fitters out thereof, John Weston and John Reynewelle owners of 'la Marie' of London, Roger Kegiworth, Thomas Vale and the said John Wofton (sic) and John Reynewelle fitters out thereof, John Spenser owner of 'la Trinite' of London, Robert Arnolde, Walter Causton and William Sevenoke fitters out thereof, William atte Welle owner of a balenger of London and fitter out thereof, Robert Paston owner of a 'dogger' of Blakeney and fitter out thereof, William Pye owner of a crayer of Kyrkele and fitter out thereof, John Parker of Cleye owner of the moiety of a balenger of Cleye and fitter out of a moiety thereof, and Thomas Craft, Geoffrey Brooke, Richard Merlowe and William Sevenoke fitters out of a ship called 'le Nicholas' of London, John Mayhewe owner, have in presence of John Hende mayor of London made restitution and contented him for his said goods etc. And at the request of James Roscob, for that his seal is to many unknown, the said mayor has affixed the seal of office of the mayoralty. Order to give notice to Henry late bishop of Lincoln to be in chancery in the quinzaine of Easter in order to shew cause wherefore there ought not to be a stay pending the appeal of John Fyncheden, writ of supersedeas, and order by mainprise of John Joce of London, John Carlille 'bruer,' Richard Hukele of London and John Preston of Preston co. York to set the appellant free, if taken; as at the request of the said then bishop, signifying that by his authority as ordinary John Fyncheden was excommunicated for contumacy, not willing to be justified by censure of the church, the king ordered the sheriffs to justify him by his body until he should content holy church for his contempt and wrongdoing; but he has appealed to the papal see and for protection of the court of Canterbury, and is prosecuting his appeal, and the king has given him the day aforesaid; and John Joce and the others have mainperned in chancery to have him there that day.
William Esturmy knight to William Hankeforde knight, Henry Popham, Robert son of Robert Hulle and Robert son of John Hulle knight (militis), their heirs and assigns. Charter with warranty of the manors of Pollynge, Belane co. Confirmation of their estate, and quitclaim with warranty of the manor of 'Morehalle' in Wrytle co. Request and order, if John Lambe one of the yeomen of the king's chamber, whom the king lately sent to them, willing to make provision for his maintenance, requesting them to admit him and minister to him such maintenance as Thomas Grenoke deceased had therein, making and delivering to him letters patent under the common seal of their house with mention of what he should receive, will give up those letters, to admit to their house John Reyner of the office of the king's ewery, and minister to him such maintenance as John Lambe had, making and delivering to him like letters, and certifying by the bearer what they will do; as John Lambe is minded to demise his estate therein to the end that John Reyner may have it. Order upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made, that all liege subjects of the king who feel themselves aggrieved by them of Prucia or of the hanse or their allies, or have made any undue attempt against them of Prucia or of the hanse or their allies, shall by themselves, their proctors or attorneys be with all speed before the king and council at Westminster to give information to his ambassadors concerning damages and grievances on either side, if they wish to reap the benefit of recovery for their damages and wrongs; as the king is purposing shortly to send to Prucia divers his ambassadors to crave and obtain amends for damages and grievances inflicted at sea on his liege subjects by them of Prucia and others of the fellowship of the hanse and their allies, and on them by his liege subjects.
