Katherine who was wife of John Bynglay and late the wife of Thomas Swynflete of Kyngeston upon Hull, being cousin and heir of Hugh Hanby of Kyngeston aforesaid, and John Swynflete her son and heir, to John Northeby citizen and merchant of York, his heirs and assigns. Confirmation of their estate in divers lands, tenements, rents and services in the city of York sometime of the said Hugh, which John Northeby did enter after the death of Emma his wife, sometime wife of the said Hugh, and was thereof seised until unlawfully and without a judgment disseised by the said Katherine and her son, and did recover the same by the law of England and according to the custom of the city of York, and is now in seisin thereof by virtue of execution of the assize; and quitclaim with warranty of the premises, subject to a proviso that this warranty shall only bar them or their heirs, in case John Northeby, his heirs or assigns, shall be impleaded by them or by feoffees of theirs. Memorandum of acknowledgment in the common hall of Kyngeston upon Hull on the feast of St. Thomas the Apostle before John Waleys the mayor, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the chancery file for this year.
