To the prior and convent of St. Frideswide Oxford. Nomination of John Baccumbe the king's servant, clerk of his chapel, to receive the pension wherein by reason of the prior's new creation they are bound to one of the king's clerks, until by them provided with a benefice. By p.s. [2893.]

Thomas Burgh late of Landesdale to John Cotyngham prior of St. Mary Blyth and the convent, and to their successors. Quitclaim of a yearly rent of 4 marks, and of one gown a year of the suit of the prior's esquires for the time being, to him granted by Robert Topclyffe the prior's predecessor and the convent; also of a capital messuage in Barneby called 'Haulo place,' and all lands etc. which Thomas Cauage had of the prior, likewise demised to Thomas Burgh for life; and release of all actions real and personal. Leonard Riche merchant of Pyemonde of the hospital of St. Mary Mont Cenis, being proctor general in England of the provost and chapter thereof, to Richard Walkstede knight of Oxfordshire, Master John Urry clerk of Sussex and Alexander Cheyne esquire of Kent, and to the executors and assigns of Sir Richard. Lease for 39 years of the church of Wotton by Wodestoke in the diocese of Lincoln to the said hospital appropriated, with the rectory manse, tithes, rents etc., and the advowson of the vicarage, paying yearly 12 marks to the said Leonard or other their proctor in London in the church of St. Paul, and the said Leonard acknowledges that for the first year he is paid beforehand: the lessees shall bear all charges ordinary and extraordinary, and shall maintain three houses now standing in the rectory, leaving them in as good state as they received them or better: bond of the lessees, and for greater security they have sworn upon the gospels to keep these covenants. Charter with warranty of all his goods and chattels moveable and immovable, quick and dead in the city of London and elsewhere within the realm; and in name of possession he has delivered to them 6s. 8d. Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 500l., made in chancery 4 May this year by Richard Stucle and John Bluet esquires for William de Botreaux knight, and of an undertaking by him under the same pain, that until a month after Michaelmas next he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to John Gogh, and that if they be not meantime agreed, he shall then appear in person in chancery.
Marginal note, that John Gogh did that day appear, and being sworn upon the gospels and examined did acknowledge that he and the said William were already agreed touching all matters to that date, and that no hurt or harm was by the said William procured or done to him, and did make a release of the security to him given and by him craved.

To the abbot and convent of Muchelneye. Order to take again their letters patent to John Fouler concerning a corrody or maintenance for life which he has in that abbey by grant of King Henry IV, to admit him and John Penycoke yeoman of the king's robes to their house, and minister to them such corrody for their lives and the life of the longest liver, even as John Fouler or any other before him had, making and delivering to them other letters patent under the common seal of the house, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as John Fouler is minded to demise his estate therein to the end that he and John Penycoke may have it, and by advice and assent of the council the king has granted the same to them with the profits and commodities due of old time.
