To the escheator in Oxfordshire. Order to take the fealties of William Cheyne knight, John Frank clerk, John Mulsho, Geoffrey Motte clerk and John Aston, and to give them livery of the manor of 'Barton Seint John,' and the issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Richard Quatermayne the escheator, that Thomas Seyntclere was thereof seised, and without licence of the king gave the same to William Cheyne and the others now living, John Halle and William Halle both now deceased, and to their heirs, and that the said manor is held in chief by the service of the sixth part of one knight's fee; and for a fine paid in the hanaper the king by letters patent of 20 June 4 Henry VI pardoned the trespass therein committed, and for 6s. 8d. therein paid respited the homages of William Cheyne and the others until Easter day next.
