Westminster.
John Box of Pontefract, cousin and heir of John Box of Pontefract son and heir of Hamon Box citizen of London, to John Silton citizen and tailor of London. Recognisance for 40 marks, to be levied etc. in Yorkshire.
John Silton (as above) and John Boox of Pountfreit (as above). Indenture of defeasance of the foregoing recognisance, upon condition that John Silton, his heirs or assigns shall not by reason of any statute merchant or of the staple, any recognisance, recovery, judgment, annuity or other charge before this date, save the rents and services and 10s. quit rent due and accustomed, be thrust out of a tenement with houses, shops, solars, cellars etc. in 'Cordewanerstret' in the parish of St. Mary 'Aldermarichirche' London, between a tenement of William Mildenhale on the south and a tenement pertaining to the said church late of William de Derby and now of Robert Louth on the north and extending from the high street on the east to a tenement of Sir John Chaumbre to the west, and a yearly rent of 9s. to be taken of the said tenement pertaining to the church, whereof John Boox the cousin and heir has made a feoffment to John Silton, or that if Isabel wife of John Boox the cousin or any other woman shall recover dower thereof, or of any parcel of the same, John Boox, his heirs or assigns shall within a year after such recovery make recompense, provided that a quarter of a year before such recovery warning shall be given at the parish church of Allhallows Pountfreit to aid and defend John Silton, his heirs or assigns. Gift of a yearly pension of 14 marks, to be taken during Sir Simon's life in the church of St. Paul London, and bond in 40l. payable whensoever the same or parcel thereof shall be three weeks in arrear. Dated the chapter house, 14 June 20 Richard II.
Memorandum of acknowledgment at Bristol 13 June that year before the prior of St. James Bristol, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the file for this year.
Roger Ryot citizen and goldsmith of London to William atte Wode of Neubury, Richard Abberbury knight, Richard de Bromley, John Coteroun, Nicholas Colnet, Reynold Chaump' and John Hewester clerk, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of a yearly rent of 4 marks arising from certain lands in Neubury, Spenehamlonde, Wodespene, Chirchespene, Shawe and Thaccham in the tenure of the said William and the others, and of all right in those lands. Dated Neubury, Saturday after St. John Baptist 21 Richard II.

To the mayor and sheriff of Bristol. Writ of supersedeas in respect of executing the king's late writ, ordering them to have Thomas Patryke, by them taken and kept in Bristol prison it is said, in chancery at a day to come, and the cause of his imprisonment.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100 marks, made in chancery 2 July this year by John Chansey of Yorkshire, Robert Penkrych, John Sylam and Richard Chife of London for Robert Thorley and John Clerke, that they shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Nicholas fitz Herberd.

Robert Bonlot, William Spenser and Alan de Kirkeby chaplain to Ralph de Hastynges knight and Maud his wife, and to the heirs and assigns of the said Ralph. Charter of the manors of Slengisby, Holthorp and Colton with the appurtenances and all other the profits to those manors belonging, the neifs and all that goes with them, all services of freeholders and neifs and the reversions of all lands after the death of tenants for life, which the grantors have by the said Ralph's feoffment, without action for waste while in the said Maud's hand if she survive, great trees growing in the woods excepted save for repair of the said manors; also of a rent of one red rose at Midsummer, if demanded, issuing from a messuage and two bovates of land in Slengisby held for life by Ralph Cooke, and the reversion of the same. Charter of the manor of Sutton in Holdernesse, with all services, homages and reliefs of freeholders, all reversions, the neifs thereto pertaining and all that goes with them, which they have by his feoffment. Charter of all their lands, rents and services and reversions in the towns and territories of Assheby Parva co. Leycestre and Burton co. Warwick, which the grantors had by Sir Ralph's feoffment. Charter of the manor of Braunston by Leycestre co. Leycestre, with lands, rents, woods and reversions in Braunston, Lubsthorpp and Aylston, which the grantors had by feoffment of Sir Ralph. Witnesses: Robert de Swillyngton, Thomas de Erdyngton, William Muton, John Burdet knights, Robert de Langham. Dated Braunston, (as the last.)

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Thomas de Meryton, appointed with John Bray of Stratton, Henry Bromewyche and William de Ofchirche to make inquisition in Warwickshire concerning great waste and various defects in the alien priory of Wofricheton, which is in the king's hand by reason of the war with France, and in the possessions thereto belonging, during the time that brother John Chatet an alien monk had the priory to farm, and order to release any distress made upon the said Thomas, proceeding nevertheless against others who did meddle therein; as that commission came not to his hands, as he has made oath in chancery.
