Treasury reference to the Warden &c. of the Mint of the petition
of Jonathan Ambrose, melter to the Mint in the Tower shewing that
he performed his agreement of melting and coining the several
ingots and scissels of silver proceeding from the old money into
small bars and making up the sweep of each fond by itself at three
farthings per pound Troy, the King bearing the loss of the waste:
that the said waste does not exceed 4d. per pound weight Troy
according to the agreement with petitioner: but auditor Bridges
who is now making up petitioner's account of the said waste refuses
to allow same without a Treasury warrant for the King's bearing
the loss: therefore praying such a warrant for the auditor. Reference
