Friday, the 22d of May, 1657.

Ld. Broghill's Estate.

A BILL for settling the Castle of Blarney, and Lands of the Value of One thousand Pounds per Ann. which were Part of the Possessions of Donnogh Mac Carti, Lord Viscount Muskerry, upon Roger Boyle, Lord Baron of Broghill, and his Heirs; in Satisfaction of all his Arrears and Demands, unto the 28th of June 1650; was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the Irish Committee: And that Committee, as to this Business, are to meet in the Queen's Court, To-morrow in the Afternoon: And that Doctor Clerges be added to that Committee.

Estates in Ireland.

A Bill for the Assuring, Confirming, and Settling of Lands and Estates in Ireland, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the Committee to whom the Bill for Attainder of the Rebels in Ireland is committed.

Colonel Rich. Ingoldsby, Doctor Clerges, Mr. Godfrey, Sir John Trevor, Colonel John Jones, Colonel Berisford, Mr. Fowell, Captain Blackwell, Mr. Thelwell, Alderman Foote, Mr. Lloyd, be added to that Committee: And that all that come shall have Voices: And are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Queen's Court.

Irish Adventurers.

Ordered, That the Bill for the Adventurers for Lands in Ireland, be read the First time To-morrow Morning.

Style of Protector.

Sir Lislebone Long reports from the Committee to whom it was referred to bound the Title of Lord Protector, the Resolution of that Committee thereupon, in these Words: viz.

"That your Highness will be pleased, by and under the Name and Style of Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland, and Ireland, and the Dominions and Territories thereunto belonging, to hold and exercise the Office of Chief Magistrate of these Nations; and to govern, according to this Petition and Advice, in all Things therein contained; and in all other Things, according to the Laws of these Nations, and not otherwise:" Which was read.

The Question being propounded, That this House doth agree with the Committee herein;

And the Question being put, That this Question shall be now put;

It passed in the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put, That this House doth agree with the Committee;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So it was Resolved, That the House doth agree with the Committee herein.

The Question being put, That this Paragraph, "That Your Highness will be pleased to assume the Name, Style, Title, Dignity, and Office, of King of England, Scotland, and Ireland, and the respective Dominions and Territories thereunto belonging; and to exercise the same, according to the Laws of these Nations;" do stand in the Petition and Advice;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, by the Parliament, That, instead of that Paragraph, this Clause be inserted; viz. "That Your Highness will be pleased, by and under the Name and Style of Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland, and Ireland, and the Dominions and Territories thereunto belonging, to hold and exercise the Office of Chief Magistrate of these Nations; and to govern according to this Petition and Advice, in all Things therein contained; and in all other Things, according to the Laws of these Nations, and not otherwise."
