Prayers.
Message to attend the King.
A MESSAGE from his Majesty, by Sir John Eyton Usher of the Black Rod:
Mr. Speaker,
The King commands this honourable House to wait upon his Majesty in the House of Lords.
And accordingly Mr. Speaker, with the House, went up to attend his Majesty.
Mr. Speaker acquaints the House with the Effect of the Speeches delivered by his Majesty; and by the Lord Keeper, by his Majesty's Command: Which, being in Writing, was also read to the House.
Poole Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do certify the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, of the Death of Sir John Fitz James, Knight, who lately served as a Member of this House for the Town of Poole; desiring him, that a Writ may issue forth under the Great Seal, for the Election of a Burgess, for the said Town, to serve in this present Parliament, in his place and stead.
Medona Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do certify the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, of the Death of John Siclemore Esquire, who lately served as a Member of this House for the Borough of Gippi, alias Medona, in the County of Suffolk; desiring him, that a Writ may issue forth under the Great Seal, for the Election of a Burgess, for the said Borough, to serve in this present Parliament, in his place and stead.
Wilts Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do certify the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, of the Death of Sir James Thyn, who lately served as a Member of this House for the County of Wilts, desiring him, that a Writ may issue forth under the Great Seal, for the Election of a Knight, for the said County, to serve in this present Parliament, in his place and stead.
Melcombe Regis Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do certify the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, of the Death of Sir William Pen, Knight, who lately served as a Member of this House for the Borough of Melcomb Regis in the County of Dorsett; desiring him, that a Writ may issue forth under the Great Seal, for the Election of a Burgess, for the said Borough, to serve in this present Parliament, in his place and stead.
East Retford Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do certify the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, of the Death of Sir Clifford Clifton, who served as a Member of this House for the Borough of East Retford in the County of Nottingham; desiring him, that a Writ may issue forth under the Great Seal, for the Election of a Burgess, for the said Borough, to serve in this present Parliament, in his place and stead.
