Prayers.

Excise.

MR. Stephens reports from the Grand Committee of the House for Excise, That the said Committee did adjourn till this Day; and desire Leave of the House, that the Committee may fit accordingly.

Resolved, That the House be presently resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Business of the Excise.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Stephens took the Chair.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Stephens reports from the Grand Committee, That that Committee hath adjourned itself till Tuesday Morning Eight of the Clock; and desire the Leave of the House to sit accordingly.

Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Grand Committee on Tuesday Morning next: And that the Speaker do forbear to take the Chair.

[a] Here is an Entry erased; and, underneath, is written, "This Vote is vacated by Order of Parliament, made the 26th of March 1659. Jo. Smythe, Clerk of the Parliament, to attend the Commons."

Assessments.

Resolved, That the Bill touching the Assessments be read To-morrow, the first Business, nothing to intervene.

Sequestration.

Resolved, That the Bill touching Sequestration be read To-morrow, Morning, next after the Bill of Assessments.

Alderman of London.

Resolved, That Mr.Francis Allen, a Member of this House, be left to his own Election, touching his Acceptance of the Place as Alderman in the City of London, with this; -That, if he shall accept the same, the House shall account his Acceptance thereof an acceptable Service to the Commonwealth.

Ship Sancta Clara.

Resolved, That the Council of State be appointed to consider not only of the Matter of Fact touching the Ship Sancta Clara, but what is sit to be done therein; and report their Opinion therein to the House.
