John Greyby, John Croffton, Edmund Thorn, and William Brampston, gave the under-mentioned moiety of the manor of Crawley to William Lovell, knt., father of the said Henry, Lord Morley, in tail male, with remainder to one Henry Lovell, brother of the said William Lovell, knt., in tail male, with remainder in default to the right heirs of William, Lord Lovell, father of the said William Lovell, knt.
The said William Lovell, knt., the son, was seised of the said moiety accordingly in fee tail, and on his death it descended to the said Henry Lovell, Lord Morley, as his son and heir, who was seised thereof accordingly in fee tail per formam doni. And being so seised the said Henry took to wife, at Wyngfeld, co. Suffolk, Elizabeth, daughter of John, Duke of Suffolk, but afterwards died without issue. And as he was the only issue male of his father, and died himself without issue, and as the said Henry Lovell, brother of the said William Lovell, knt., died without issue, Francis Lovell, knt., is cousin and heir of the said William, Lord Lovell, the father, viz. son of John, his son; which Francis Lovell, knt., was attainted in the Parliament held at Westminster, 7 Nov., 1 Hen. VII.
The said Henry Lovell, Lord Morley, died 13 June last. Alice wife of William Parker, knt., aged 22 and more, is both his sister and heir and next heir of the body of the said William Lovell, knt., the son.
BUCKS. A moiety of the manor of Crawley, worth 10l., held of the King, as of the hundred of Lathbery, by fealty and 12d. rent yearly, for all service.

Writ torn; inq. 24 Sept., 5 Hen. VII.
A fine was levied in the octave of St. John the Baptist, 6 Edw. IV, between Richard Fouler and Thomas Wode, querents, and Ralph Boteler and Alice his wife, deforciants, of, inter alia, the under-mentioned manor and lands, to the use of the said Ralph and Alice, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder in default to Henry Lovell, esq., in tail, with remainder in default to William Lovell, Lord Morley, in tail. The said Henry Lovell died without issue, and afterwards the said Ralph and Alice died likewise without issue, whereupon the said William, Lord Morley, entered on the said premises, which on his death descended to the said Henry, Lord Morley, as his son and heir.

Writ 28 June, 4 Hen. VII; inq. Saturday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 5 Hen. VII.
By deed dated 2 April, 4 Hen. VII, he gave the under-mentioned manors of Buxton and Hengham, and the hundred of Fourehough, whereof he was seised in fee, to Henry Heydon, and William Boleyn, knts., Simon Wiseman, William Gurnay the younger, and Thomas Wodehous the elder, esqs., and Thomas Thorusby, for the payment of his debts out of the yearly profits thereof, and after such payment, to the use of his last will.
Eleanor, late the wife of William, Lord Morley, was seised of the other under-mentioned manors, &c., in fee tail, viz. to herself and the heirs of her body. She had issue the said Henry, Lord Morley, and Alice, now the wife of William Parker, knt. On her death the said Henry entered on the said premises, as her son and heir.
He died, without issue, 6 June, 4 Hen. VII. The said Alice, aged 24 and more, is his sister and heir, and daughter and heir of the said Eleanor.

One John Fitzjames the elder, and John Bosgrove, being seised of the under-mentioned manor of Sutton Mountague in fee, gave, by the names of John Fitzjames, esq., and John Bosgrove, an annuity of 40s. out of the said manor to John Pyke the younger, to him and his assigns, for the term of his life, to be paid quarterly as follows, viz. 26s. 8d. yearly at Christmas, Easter, Midsummer, and Michaelmas, equally, and 13s. 4d. yearly after the death of the said William Mountague, and of Alice Mountague his wife, who survives, by equal payments at the said feasts, with power of distraint; which annuity of 26s. 8d., parcel of the said annuity of 40s. so granted him, the said John Pyke has been paid up to date.
The said John Fitzjames, esq., and John Bosgrove being seised of the said manor, as above, charged with the said annuity, demised it to the said William and Alice, before their intermarriage, by the names of William Mountague of Slo, esq., and Alice Gilbert, late the wife of William Gilbert, to hold together with the under-mentioned messuages and land in Crowthorne, to them and the heirs and assigns of William.
The said William Mountague, being seised of the under-mentioned messuages, &c., in Quene Cammell and Sheryston in fee, enfeoffed John Soper and John Hoke thereof, who being seised thereof accordingly in fee, demised the said messuages and land to the said William for the term of his life, with remainder to William Mountague, his son and heir, and Katharine, wife of the said William the son, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder in default to the right heirs of William the father. The said William, the son, died in his father’s lifetime, but the said Katharine survives, and is seised of the premises in fee tail.
He died on St. Bodulph the Abbot’s day last, seised of the under-mentioned manor of Slo, &c., in fee. Robert Mountague, aged 15 and more, is his cousin and heir, viz. son and heir of William Mountague, his son and heir.
SOMERS. Manor of Sutton Mountague, worth 12l., held by service of 1/3 of a knight’s fee, of Edward, Earl of Salisbury, who is in the King’s custody during his minority.
Two messuages in Crowthorne, worth 12s., held of the said Earl, by fealty and 12d. rent, for all service.
Five acres of land in Crowthorne, worth 20d., held of Roger Norman, service unknown.

John Barre, knt., her father, was seised of the under-mentioned manors of Knebbeworth, &c., and lands, &c., in Thebruge, &c., in fee, and died so seised. After his death Thomas Bourgchier the elder, knt., and the said Isabel his wife, entered on the said manors and lands, in her right, as his daughter and heir; they had issue a daughter Isabel, who is dead without issue. And afterwards a fine was levied between one William Kynardesley, clk., and William Payforer, querents, and the said Thomas Bourgchier and Isabel, deforciants, of the said manors and lands, to the use of the said Thomas and Isabel, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder in default to the heirs of her body, with remainder in default to the heirs of his body, with remainder in default to Thomas Bourgchier the younger, knt., Humphrey Talbot, knt., William Pykenham, clk., Davyd ap Guillim Morgan, esq., John Mountford, clk., John Lyle, esq., Robert Stowell, esq., William Taye, Thomas Balles, and John Nalton, to the use of the said Thomas Bourgchier [the elder], his heirs and assigns.
The said Thomas and Isabel were seised in her right of the under-mentioned manor and advowson of Ayot in fee tail, with remainder to the right heirs of the said John Barre. She died without heir of her body, and the said Thomas survived her and is seised of the said manor and advowson in his demesne as of frank tenement by the curtesy, with reversion to Edmund Cornwaill, knt., and others (as in No. 472).

He gave the under-mentioned messuages and land in Kyndeston, Suddon, Runggeforde, Wymbourne Plecy, and Wymbourne Minster, to one William Swayn, and others, who by his direction gave the said premises to William Cammell, his son and heir apparent, and Joan his wife, to hold to them and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to his own right heirs.
He gave the under-mentioned manor of West Perle and lands in Marnhyll to one Thomas Husee of Wychampton, esq., William Sowthstrete, and William Assheley, who at his request gave the said manor and lands to him, and Alice his wife, who survives, and his heirs.
He died the last day of January, 3 Hen. VII, seised of the under-mentioned manor of Mores in fee. William Cammell, aged 30 and more, is his son and heir.

516 ANNE, late the wife of GEORGE, EARL OF KENT.
Writ 18 Oct., inq. 6 Nov., 5 Hen. VII.
Richard, late Duke of Gloucester, being seised of the under-mentioned manor in fee, gave it to John Flegge and Agatha his wife for the term of their lives in survivorship. On the said Duke’s death the reversion of the said manor descended to King Edward IV, as his son and heir, who, on the death of the survivor of the said John and Agatha entered into possession thereof, and by letters patent dated 14 Feb., 19 Edw. IV, gave the said manor to the said Anne, late the wife of William Bourchier, knt., in tail male, to be held of the King and his heirs by fealty only. She was seised thereof accordingly in fee tail and afterwards intermarried with George, Earl of Kent, by whom she had issue a son Richard. The said Earl survived her, and is seised of the said manor in his demesne as of frank tenement by the curtesy.
She died the last day but one of July, 4 Hen. VII. Henry, Earl of Essex, aged 16 and more, is her son and heir.

He died 5 July, 4 Hen. VII, seised of the other under-mentioned manor and lands in fee. Henry Clovile, aged 26 and more, is his son and heir.

Freeston, clk., gave the under-mentioned manors and advowsons to Miles Stapulton, knt., and the said Katharine, then his wife, and the heirs of the body of the said Miles, without impeachment of waste, with remainder in default to the heirs of the body of Brian Stapulton, esq., deceased, his brother, with remainder in default to the right heirs of the said Miles. She survived the said Miles, and died 13 Oct., 4 Hen. VII, seised of the premises in her demesne as of frank tenement. Elizabeth the wife of William Calthorp, knt., aged 47 and more, and Joan the wife of John Huddelston, knt., aged 44 and more, are her daughters and heirs, and they are also daughters and heirs of the body of the said Miles.

He died Tuesday, 28 April, 4 Hen. VII. Henry, now Earl of Northumberland, aged 12 years and 14 weeks, is his son and heir.

WARW. Manor, or lordship, of Weston under Wetheley, held of the Prior of Maxstok in socage, viz. by fealty and 1d. rent yearly, for all service. The clear annual value is 100s., over and above the sum of 96s. 2d., given by him to one Thomas Knyghtley, esq., for the term of four years, as appears by indentures between them, dated the last day of July, 4 Hen. VII.

He held and was seised of the under-mentioned knight’s fee, and on the day of his death held it of the King.
The said Stephen Gerard of Polscoth died on the feast of St. George last, seised of the under-mentioned messuage, land, and tithing in fee. Joan the wife of Hugh Litelton, aged 30 and more, is his daughter and heir.
CORNW. A knight’s fee in Suth Ludbrok, Beaucombe, Langham, Edmyston, and Trethenek, which knight’s fees (sic) he held of the King, as of his castle of Trematon, by knight-service, having come to the hands of the King’s progenitors by forfeiture; it is worth 40s. yearly. On his daughter inheriting the same there is due to the King by way of relief, in right of the said castle, 5 marks, and the repair of three battlements of the said castle.
A messuage and an acre of land Cornish in Nether Polscoth, and the whole tithing of Polscoth, held of the King, as of Launceveton castle, by 15d. rent due at Michaelmas, in pure socage, for all service. The relief due to the King for the said acre and tithing is 12s. 6d. according to the custom of the county of Cornwall.

IV, one John Leukenore, Bartholomew Bolney, John Gruell, and Thomas Gynnor, having obtained the King’s licence enabling them thereto, gave the under-mentioned manors of Stokegurcy, &c., and the hundred of Canyngton, to Thomas Urswyk, knt., Ralph Verney, knt., Richard Nedeham, Richard Pygott, Thomas Rodez, Thomas Rygby, John Wark, clk., Robert Dawtre, and John Stodeley, now deceased, and Edward Barkeley, knt., Guy Fayrfax, knt., and John Goryng, who survive, to hold inter alia to the use of Eleanor, late Countess of Northumberland, and her heirs.
He died 28 April, 4 Hen. VII, seised of the under-mentioned lordships, or manors, of Dunhede and Stoke Mychell in fee. Henry, the now Earl, aged 12 on the feast of St. Felix, viz. 14 Jan. last, is his son and heir.
By letters patent, dated 19 Feb., 4 Hen. VII, he gave 10 marks annuity out of the said manors of Dunhede and Stoke to Giles, Lord de Daubeney, knt., for life. By other letters patent, dated 12 Feb., 4 Hen. VII, he gave the office of steward of the said manors, with an annuity of 20s. for life to Thomas Champeneys.

550 JOAN, late the wife of THOMAS BENDISSHE, esq.
Writ de Amotus 23 March, inq. 4 May, 5 Hen. VII.
John Lovetop, vicar of Steeple Bumpsted, and Ralph Julyan, vicar of Helyon Bumpstead, gave the under-mentioned manor and lands to Thomas Bendish the elder, and the said Joan, then his wife, to hold to them and the heirs male of the body of the said Thomas. She survived him, and was seised of the premises in her demesne as of frank tenement, with reversion to Richard Bendish, son of Richard, son of the said Thomas.
She died on Tuesday, the feast of Carnisprivium, 4 Hen. VII. Richard Bendish, aged 5 and more, is her cousin and heir, viz. son of Richard, her son by the said Thomas.
ESSEX. Manor of Bendisshes, in Steeple Bumpsted, worth 4 marks, held of the Abbot of St. Peter’s, Westminster, in socage.
