Prayers.

Protection of a Witness.

INFORMATION being given to the House, That one William Berry, who is a material Witness for Sir Hugh Ackland, in a Cause concerning the Election for the Borough of Tiverton in the County of Devon, being in Debt, and in Danger of Arrests, unless he have the Protection of this House;

Ordered, That William Berry shall have the Protection of this House, in coming up, staying, and returning, in order to give his Testimony before the Committee of Privileges and Elections, in a Cause between Sir Hugh Ackland and Mr. Foote, concerning the Election for the Borough of Tiverton.

Malton Election.

A Debate arising, touching the Petition tendered in the Name of the Inhabitants of the Town of Malton (which was read, and referred to the Committee of Elections); whether the Petition were regularly and duly signed and presented;

The Question being put, That the Committee of Elections do proceed on the Petition of the Inhabitants of the Town of Malton;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Derwyn Navigation.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to make the River Derwyn in the County of Derby navigable.

Trade with France.

Resolved, &c. That Saturday next be appointed to take into Consideration the Report concerning the Trade between England and France.

Ordered, That Saturday next be appointed to take into Consideration the State and Condition of the Nation, in relation to the Woolen Manufacture; and of the Woolen Manufactures and Trade of Ireland; and of preserving the Manufacturing and Making of Malt; and encouraging the Growth of Barley.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees which are discontinued, be revived; and do sit this Afternoon.

Illegal Imprisonment.

Ordered, That the Bill to prevent the illegal Imprisonment of the Subject, be read To-morrow Morning.

Supply.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of that Part of his Majesty's Speech, which relates to a Supply for the building more Ships.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir John Trever took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir John Trever reports from the Committee, That they had made some Progress; and humbly moved, that the House may, To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock, resolve again into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of that Part of his Majesty's Speech, which relates to a Supply for the building more Ships.

Resolved, &c. That this House will, To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of that Part of his Majesty's Speech, which relates to a Supply for the building more Ships.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees that were to sit this Afternoon, be adjourned till To-morrow, Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
