Sir Arthur Kay, Leave for a Bill.

After reading, and considering, the Report of the Judges, to whom was referred the Petition of Sir Arthur Kay; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Purposes in the Petition mentioned:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner hath hereby Leave given to bring in a Bill, according to the Prayer of the said Petition.

Judge's Petition for a Divorce, Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of Arthur Judge the Younger, of Tristernagh, in the County of Westmeath, in the Kingdom of Ireland, Gentleman; shewing, "That the Petitioner, about Fourteen Years since, intermarried with Maria Piers, with whom he lived about Five Years: That, ever since, the said Maria Piers hath eloped, and lived in notorious and scandalous Adultery; for which the Petitioner hath sued for, and duely obtained, a Sentence of Divorce against the said Maria;" and praying, "That Leave may be given to bring in a Bill, for dissolving the Marriage between him and the said Maria Piers:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner shall be heard, to make good the Grounds and Allegations of his Petition, on Thursday the Eighteenth Day of March next, at Eleven a Clock in the Forenoon, whereof the said Maria Piers shall have Notice.

Markwick versus Meyor & al. of London.

The Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Queen's Bench, in the usual Manner, brought up a Writ of Error, wherein James Markwick Junior is Plaintiff, and the Mayor, Commonalty, and Citizens of the City of London, are Defendants.

Salt Duties, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to explain the Act of the last Session of Parliament, for the Ease of Her Majesty's Subjects, in relation to Allowances out of the Duties upon Salt carried Coastwise; and also an Act of the First Year of Her Majesty's Reign, in relation to certain Salt-works near the Sea side, and Bay of Holy-head, in the County of Anglesea."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Stamford reported, "That the Committee of the whole House had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Sir Seymour Pile's Estate, for Discharge of Incumbrances and Debts; and laying out the Residue of the Money arising by such Sale, for a Provision for himself and Family."

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Saturday next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Lenthall's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Equity of Redemption of the Manor and Capital Message of Great Haseley, with the Appurtenances, and divers Messuages, Farms, and Lands, in Haseley and Latchford, in the County of Oxford, late the Estate of William Lenthall Esquire, deceased, (in Trustees) to be sold, for discharging of Incumbrances thereupon."

Sir H. Bond's Attainder, Bill to reverse.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Reversal of the Attainder of Sir Henry Bond Baronet, in Ireland."

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Sir P. Dun et al. Bill;

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Relief of Sir Patrick Dun and others.

It being proposed, "To commit this Bill:"

After Debate;

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, shall be committed?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Rejected.

Ordered, That the said Bill shall be, and is hereby, rejected.

East Riding York, Register Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the public registering of all Deeds, Conveyances, Wills, and other Incumbrances, that shall be made of, or that may affect, any Honours, Manors, Lands, Tenements, or Hereditaments, within the East Riding of the County of York, or the Town and County of the Town of Kingston upon Hull."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Tuesday next.

Spanish Merchants versus Cochineal Importation Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of several Spanish Merchants, in Behalf of themselves and others, Traders for Spain; praying, "That they may be heard, by themselves or Counsel, before the passing of the Bill, intituled, An Act for the Importation of Cochineal during the War, and for Six Months after:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners shall be heard, by themselves or Counsel, against the said Bill, on Tuesday next, at Eleven a Clock, before the Second Reading thereof; as also Counsel, or any other Persons, for the said Bill, as they think fit.

Adjourn.
