Prayers.

Churchill's Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to confirm the Sale of Part of the Estate of Sir John Churchill Knight, lately deceased, pursuant to his last Will, and Two Decrees of Chancery for Performance thereof, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Morgan, Lord Digby, Mr. Holmes, Mr. Machell, Mr. Mounstevens, Mr. Egerton, Mr. Drake, Mr. Hedger, Mr. Blofeild, Sir John Kaye, Mr. Baldwyn, Mr. Yorke, Sir Robert Cotton, Mr. Maudit, Mr. Frewen, Mr. Manly, Sir Matthew Andrews, Mr. Gery, Mr. Palmes, Sir Jacob Ashley, Mr. White, Mr. Harrison, Mr. Brewer, Sir H. Embezzlement of Naval Stores.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for enforcing the Laws against such as steal and embezzle his Majesty's Ammunition, Sails, Cordage, or other Habiliments of War; and for preventing divers Cheats and Frauds in the paying of Seamen serving on board his Majesty's Ships: And that Sir Cloudesly Shovell and Mr. Norris do prepare, and bring in, the Bill.

Kingston upon-Hall Work-houses.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the erecting Work-houses, and Houses of Correction, in the Town of Kingston-upon-Hull, for the Employment and Maintenance of the Poor there: And that Sir William St. Quintin and Mr. Osborne do prepare, and bring in, the Bill.

Lewen's Estate.

A Bill to rectify some Mistakes in an Act, passed this Session of Parliament, intituled, An Act to enable John Lewen to sell certain Messuages in Southwark, for Payment of Debts, was, according to Order, read a Second time.

A Petition of Thomas Due, of Greenwich, Waterman, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for prevaricating with, and refusing to give satisfactory Answers, to such Questions as he was examined to by the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Royal Lustring Company of England was referred, was presented to the House, and read; expressing his Sorrow, That he offended this House by any undecent Behaviour or Speech at the said Committee: And praying, That he may be discharged out of Custody.

Ordered, That the said Thomas Due be brought to the Bar To-morrow Morning, in order to his Discharge.

Arbitration.

Ordered, That all the Members that are Merchants, and all that serve for the Cloathing Counties, be added to the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for determining Differences by Arbitration, was committed.

Repealing 30 Eliz. against making Malt.

An ingrossed Bill to repeal an Act, made in the Thirtyninth Year of Queen Elizabeth, intituled, An Act to restrain the excessive making of Malt; and to discharge and vacate Orders, made by Justices of the Peace by virtue thereof, for restraining Maltsters from making of Malt; was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act to repeal an Act, made in the Thirty-ninth Year of Queen Elizabeth, intituled, An Act to restrain the excessive making of Malt; and to discharge and vacate Orders, made by Justices of the Peace by virtue thereof, for restraining Maltsters from making of Malt.

Ordered, That Mr. Brotherton do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

J. Smith's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill for Sale of Three Houses in Swanalley in Coleman-street, London, late of Joseph Smith, deceased, for Payment of his Debts, with which the same Houses are chargeable, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for Sale of Three Houses in Swan aliey in Coleman-street, London, late of Joseph Smith, deceased, for Payment of his Debts, with which the same Houses are chargeable.

Ordered, That Mr. Perry do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Privilege— Petition of persons in custody.

A Petition of Stephen Seignoret, Rene Baudouin, Nicolas Santini, and David Barreau, Merchants, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, was presented to this House.

Ordered, That the said Petition do lie upon the Table until the Report from the Committee, appointed to consider in what manner Bail hath been taken in Cases of Misdemeanor.

Return of Juries at Assizes.

An ingrossed Bill, for the more easy Return of Juries at the Assizes and Sessions was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for the more easy Return of Juries at the Assizes and Sessions.

Ordered, That Sir William Hustler do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Blaak have Leave to go into the Country for a Fortnight, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Ordered, That Sir Cloudesly Shovell have Leave to go into the Country for Five days, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Counterfeiting Coin.

An ingrossed Bill for the better preventing the counterfeiting, clipping, and other diminishing, the Coin of this Kingdom, was read the Third time:

And several Amendments were proposed to be made to the Bill; viz.

Press 2. L. 12. before "Money," insert "Silver;" and also in several other Places:

And the same were, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and the Bill amended at the Table accordingly.

Then the Question being put, That the Bill do pass;

The House, according to Order, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply granted to his Majesty.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had come to several Resolutions; which they had directed him to report, when the House will please to receive the same.
