The House entered into Consideration of this Bill; and ordered, the further Debate thereof be resumed on Monday Morning next.

Norden versus Hawles.

Upon reading and considering of the humble Petition and Appeal of John Norden Esquire, from a Decree and Dismission made by the Court of Chancery, in a Cause there lately depending, between the Petitioner and Thomas Hawles Esquire:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the further Consideration of the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Petitions; whose Lordships, having examined the same, are to report their Opinion thereupon to this House.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Thomas Hawles Esquire, this Day in the House, as an Answer to the humble Petition and Appeal of John Norden Esquire, from a Decree and Dismission made by the Court of Chancery, in a Cause there lately depending between the Petitioner and the said John Norden:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Petitions, to be taken into Consideration by their Lordships together with the said Petition and Appeal of the said John Norden; and that it be reported therewith to the House.

Receivers, &c. of Petitions.

It is ORDERED, That the Lords Committees for Privileges shall consider what the ancient Course of Parliaments hath been, concerning Receivers and Triers of Petitions, and also what Rules their Lordships shall judge meet to offer, as fit for the House, or Committees to proceed by, in Cases of Appeals to this Court from the Courts in Westminster Hall; and make Report thereof unto this House.

E. of Manchester, Trustee for Sir T. Cheeke, Privilege.

The House being informed, by the Lord Chamberlain of His Majesty's Household, "That he is a Trustee for Sir Thomas Checke for certain Lands in Somersetshire, for some whereof he is sued, and there is a Trial at the next Assizes;" and his Lordship desiring to know the Pleasure of the House, "whether, as a Trustee, he ought to have Privilege of Parliament for stopping the said Trial:"

It is ORDERED, That it be referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, to consider whether any Peer, being a Trustee, ought to enjoy Privilege of Parliament in respect of that Estate for which he is a Trustee, and to report their Opinion to the House.
