Thursday.		 [Downing's memoranda.]
Petition [from] Peter Watson. Warrant [ordered] for 100l. (Done.)
The warrant to the Trustees [for sale of Fee Farms] to sell at 16 years' purchase any small rents if [taken in a lot they are] so many as to make up 10l. per an. [is to be] despatched against to-morrow. (Done.)
Sir William Doyly's proposition, which was brought in yesterday, about the bringing in the subsidy is to be sent to Mr. Sherwin and Mr. Webb for their opinion thereupon. (Done.)
Viscount Fauconberg's creation money: a warrant. The like for the Duke of Newcastle.
Charles Green's petition read. Warrant for 20l. more.
Edward Barnewell's petition considered. Ordered that he have the assistance of the Exchequer [Court]. A warrant [accordingly].

June 2. Treasury Chambers. Present: Lord Ashley, Treasurer of the Household, Sir John Duncombe.
Ordered: in pursuance of his Majesty's order in Council that all process be discontinued against several merchants of Exeter, &c. who were prosecuted by Mr. William Dickenson and Mr. Richard Ward under pretence of colouring strangers' goods under their own names. And the said Mr. Ward, on behalf of himself and the said Mr. Dickenson, doth agree accordingly to discontinue process against the said merchants upon their payment of the sum of 60l. to them, the said Dickenson and Ward, in consideration of their charges in prosecution.

[Write] Mr. Prouse and Mr. Ward about the business of the merchants of Exeter. Mr. Ward agrees on the behalf of himself and Mr. Dickenson to supersede all process in pursuance of His Majesty's order in Council upon payment of 60l. to them for their charges.
