Pennsylvania.

Mr. Penn's grant of Pennsylvania abstracted.

Mr. Penn presented to the Board an abstract of the clauses contained in his grant of Pennsylvania [fo. 43], which he is willing to surrender to her Majesty, as also a paper containing the heads of what he desired from her Majesty, both which were read, and their lordships resolved to take the same into consideration at their first meeting.

Jamaica.

Letter to Mr. Secretary Hedges about English prisoners in the Spanish West Indies.

A letter to Mr. Secretary Hedges [vide supra], in answer to that part of his of the 24th of the last month which relates to the English prisoners in the Spanish West Indies, proposing that her Majesty's directions be sent to the Governor of Jamaica, requiring him to endeavour to get the said prisoners exchanged, was signed.

Representation for a new counsellor.

A representation proposing Colonel Edmond Edlyn to be of the Council of Jamaica in the room of Colonel Thomas Ascough, deceased, [fo. 82] was signed.

Papers from Mr. Dyer about cruelty of the Spaniards to the English prisoners.

Two papers from Mr. Dyer, lately a prisoner at the Havana [fo. 34] vizt.:
An account of the Spaniards' cruelty to the English prisoners taken by them in America.
An account of the several ports the Spaniards have in those parts, with a description of their fortifications &c.
Letter to Mr. Secretary Hedges inclosing the same.
were read; whereupon a letter, inclosing the same to Mr. Secretary Hedges, was signed.

Copy of an Order of Councill of the 22nd of February last [I. fo. 281], upon a representation of the same date about stores of war for New Yorke, referring the same to the Duke of Marlborough, General of the Ordnance, was read.

Copy of an Order of Council of the 22nd February last [I. fo. 281], upon a representation of the same date about present for the five nations of Indians, referring the same to the Lord High Treasurer, was read.

Order of Councill on representation about new seal, &c.

Copy of an Order of Councill of the 17th of May last [I. fo. 383], upon a representation of the 10th ditto with a new seal and warrant for using the same in the Island of Jamaica, approving the said representation, was read.

Order of Councill on representation with Col. Park's instructions.

Copy of an Order of Councill of the 17th May last [I. fo. 383] upon a representation of the 10th ditto with Colonel Park's instructions for the government of the Leeward Islands, approving the same, was read.

Nevis.

Order of Councill on representation for settling the estate of Tho. Butler, &c.

Copy of an Order of Councill of the 13th [fo. 32] upon a representation of the 10th August for confirming an Act past at Nevis, for settling the estate of Captain Thomas Butler, deceased, on his three sons &c., approving the same, was read.

Ordered that the draught of a representation be prepared upon the Pennsylvania laws [fo. 41, 44], and a letter to Mr. Secretary Hedges [fo. 40, 44] upon Mr. Penn's proposal for a surrender.
