To Nicholas Monypeny, priest, of the diocese of St. Andrews, bachelor in decrees. Grant, as below. On 8 Kal. Dec. anno 1 (24 Nov. 1458) the present pope motu proprio ordered provision to be made to him of one or two benefices, even if one had cure or were a rural deanery or archpriestship, (fn. 2) or a canonry and prebend, dignity or personatus in a cathedral or collegiate church etc., in the collation etc. of the bishops of Dunkeld and Aberdeen, and the deans and chapters etc. of those churches. The pope now, motu simili, grants indult to him, who is of noble birth, that in the obtaining of such benefice or benefices he may enjoy all the preferences etc. which continual commensal members of the pope's household (but not those described in a certain book of the papal chancery) enjoy. To Nicholas Olachnayn, priest, of the diocese of Tuam. Rehabilitation at his recent petition, containing that after he had been dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, and had himself so promoted and had obtained by canonical collation the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Kyllmeylaynd in the diocese of Tuam, and had resigned it, he, without having obtained other dispensation on account of the said defect, obtained by collation made by authority of the ordinary the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Bokyrean alias Cluonberyd in the said diocese, and has detained it for about three years, taking the fruits. To the abbot of Knockmoy (Collis victorie) in the diocese of Tuam, John de Burgo, a canon of Tuam, and Donald Maceagayn, a canon of Elphin. Mandate, recapitulating the preceding (here with the spelling ‘Boyrean alias de Cluonberyd’) to collate and assign to the above Nicholas, after he has duly resigned the said vicarage of Bokyrean, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Khyllosaylayn in the diocese of Elphin, value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, void because Dermit Odubgayn, having obtained it by canonical collation, has held possession for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation; whether it be so void, or by the death of Thady Ykellayd or Malachy Ydubgayn, priests, or the resignation of the said Dermit, or in any other way.
