1418. Kal. Jan Constance. (f. 24d.)	To patriarchs etc. Requesting safe-conduct during a year for Richard, count of Mutiliana, whom the pope is sending as nuncio for affairs of the pope and the Roman church to England and other parts. Cum dilectum filium.
5 Id. Jan. Constance. (f. 25d.)	To Henry, bishop of Winchester. Faculty as below. The pope gives exemplification of his letters, Dudum presens sacrum concilium, dated at Constance 5 Kal. Jan. anno 1 [1417], and addressed to Sigismund, king of the Romans, stating that the Council of Constance lately committed to his keeping Baldassar Cossa, sometime John XXIII, after his deposition; that he and, in his name, Lewis, duke of Bavaria and count palatine of the Rhine, after having duly kept the said Baldassar, have prayed the pope to relieve them of their charge; and that the pope, with consent of the Council, complies with their request. The pope hereby gives faculty to bishop Henry to receive the said Baldassar from the said Lewis, who has guarded him on behalf of king Sigismund for nearly two years and six months. Pridem videlicet quinto Kalendas. [Fœdera.] [On f. 23d, also under date 5 Id. Jan., Constance, is a faculty, similar to the above, addressed to Masters Conrad de Susato, provost of St. Ciriac's, Nuhusen, without the walls of Worms, doctor of canon law, subdeacon, and Paul de Capranica, writer and abbreviator of papal letters, papal secretary, members of the pope's household.]
2 Kal. Feb. Constance. (f. 35d.)	To patriarchs etc. Requesting safe-conduct during six months for Richard Flemmyng, S.T.P., papal chamberlain, whom the pope is sending for affairs of the pope and the Roman church to England. Cum dilectum filium.
Ibid. (f. 36d.)	To the same. The like for Thomas Spofford, abbot of St. Mary's without the walls of York, whom the pope is sending, as in the preceding. Cum etc.
5 Id. Feb. Constance. (f. 40d.)	To Amedeus, cardinal deacon of Santa Maria Nuova. Mandate to promote concord and peace between Charles, king of the French and Henry, king of England, and between the members of the royal house of France. Pacem inter cunctos.
1418. 11 Kal. March. Constance. (f. 44.)	To kings and queens, patriarchs etc. Requesting safeconduct for Henry, bishop of Winchester, king Henry's uncle, who proposes to visit the Lord's Sepulchre and other oratories of the Holy Land. The present letters are to hold good until the bishop's return to England. Cum venerabilis frater.
5 Kal. March. Constance. (f. 46.)	To patriarchs etc. The like, during a year, for William Hullis, prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England, who is going to the Lord's Sepulchre and other parts of the world. Cum dilectus filius.
3 Kal. March. Constance. (f. 46d.)	To all and singular. The like, during six months, for Thomas de Myrton, canon of Brechin (Brichinen.), bachelor of canon law, bearer of these presents, whom the pope is sending to England, Scotland and other parts [not named] on affairs of the pope and the Roman church. Kal. March. Constance (f. 87d.)	To Griffin, bishop of Ross and Finlay de Albania, a Friar Preacher, S.T.B., about to go as papal nuncios to the realm of Scotland. Faculty to receive the submission of all adherents in Scotland of Peter de Luna; grant absolutions etc.; receive from king James or, in his absence, from his proctor or from his lieutenant, and from the governor of the realm, from all the lords and from the three Estates etc. fealty and obedience; etc. Cum ad salutem. [4½ pp. The date is corrected in the margin from 3 Non. Dec. to Kal March, anno 1.]

Faculty to dispense ten men and as many women of the said realm, notwithstanding impediment of the fourth degree only of kindred or affinity, to remain in the marriages which they have contracted in ignorance, or to contract marriage, declaring offspring past and future legitimate. Cum vos ad regnum. [The date has been corrected in the margin from Kal. Feb. to Kal March, anno 1.]

Faculty to absolve various categories of excommunicated persons of the said realm, e.g. twelve who have communicated when excommunicate, have communicated with heretics or schismatics, etc. Cum etc. [2¼ pp. The date has been corrected by the scribe himself from Kal. Faculty to dispense twelve persons of the said realm on account of illegitimacy as the sons of unmarried men and unmarried women, even if some of them be sons of priests or married [persons], or be otherwise illegitimate, provided that one parent were unmarried, to be promoted even to all holy orders and, even if they have had other papal dispensation on account of illegitimacy in regard to orders and holding one benefice only, to hold two compatible benefices with or without cure, and to exchange them. 15 Kal. April. Constance. (f. 94d.)	To Jordan, cardinal bishop of Albano, and William, cardinal priest of St. Mark's, papal nuncios to Charles, king of the French, and Henry, king of England. Mandate to carry out the mission entrusted to them, after deliberation between the pope and his cardinals, as nuncios to the above kings in order to bring about peace; with the necessary faculties. 12 Kal. March. Constance. (f. 104.)	To Simon de Brimonte, knight. Appointing him—inasmuch as the pope is sending for the sake of peace the above cardinals Jordan and William to the above two kings, and, specially and separately to the duke of Burgundy the above cardinal William—to be, on account of his special knowledge of French affairs, minister, companion and counsellor of the said cardinal. Cum propter reconciliacionem.

Kal. Dec. Mantua. (f. 224d.)	To the archbishop of Canterbury. Mandate as below. John, bishop of Lichfield, has set forth to the pope that although Robert, bishop of Killaloe (Laonien.) is sound of mind and body, and is a bachelor of theology, and understands sufficiently and can speak the language of those parts as well as English, a certain public instrument has been exhibited in the Roman court in which the said bishop Robert is represented as asserting that on account of his bodily weakness and his ignorance of Scripture and the said languages he has appointed procurators, named in the instrument, for the purpose of resigning. Further, to the said see, as void by the resignation in the Roman court of bishop Robert, made by one of the said procurators, the pope has recently translated Eugenius from Kilmacduagh. At the petition therefore of bishop John, who asserts that bishop Robert is his vicar in pontificals in the city and diocese of Lichfield, and knows nothing about such instrument and the said translation, and had and has no intention to resign, the pope orders the archbishop to inform himself as to the falsity of the said instrument, which the pope sends to him with the letters of translation, and if he find it false, to annul it, punish the forger, and declare that Robert is to remain in his said church. If he find the instrument genuine, he is to declare that the said translation is to take effect, and is to assign to the above Eugenius the pope's said letters. Exposuit nobis. 1419. Kal. Feb. Mantua. (f. 228.)	To patriarchs, etc. Requesting safe-conduct, during one year, for Master John Forster, canon of York, writer of letters of the papal penitentiary, the pope's nuncio to divers parts [not named] on business of the pope and the Roman church. Cum dilectum filium.
18 Kal. Sept. Florence. (f. 271d.)	To patriarchs etc. Requesting safe-conduct for James de Haldenston, S.T.M., prior of St. Andrews, O.S.A., papal nuncio and collector-general for the camera in the realm of Scotland and other parts subject to king James, whom the pope is sending to the said realm, and to the said parts and others. Cum dilectum filium. [See Reg. CCCXLVIII, f. 137d.]
12 Kal. Sept. Florence. (f. 296.)	To patriarchs etc. Requesting safe-conduct, during six months, for Zenobius [son] of Francis de Cauallariis, citizen of Florence, who on business of the pope and himself is going to Germany, France and England, and other parts [not named]. Cum dilectus filius.
