A History of the County of Cambridge and the Isle of Ely: Volume 6
Details the parishes of the three hundreds of Chilford, Radfield and Whittlesford in the south of the county, on the border with Essex.
A History of the County of Durham: Volume 3
Covers the cathedral city of Durham, including an account of the cathedral itself. Also covers Stockton ward in the south-east of the county (bordering North Yorkshire) including Hartlepool and Stockton on Tees.
A History of the County of Hampshire: Volume 4
Covers the areas around the northern edge of the county, from Thorngate and Andover hundreds on the western border with Dorset, around to Odiam and Crundall hundreds in the north-east of the county. It includes accounts of the towns of Andover, Aldershot and Basingstoke. It also describes the hundred of the New Forest in the south-west of the county.
A History of the County of Hertford: Volume 2
This volume covers the south and west of the county and includes areas, such as Barnet and Elstree, that are now within greater London. It also includes a detailed account of the city and cathedral of St Albans.
A History of the County of Huntingdon: Volume 2
Covers the parishes of Hurstingstone and Toseland hundreds, in the east and south of the county. Includes accounts of the towns of Huntingdon, St Ives and St Neots.
A History of the County of Lancaster: Volume 7
This volume is mostly taken up with the history of Amounderness hundred, lying north of the Ribble and south of Lonsdale. It covers the coastal town of Lytham, as well as giving an account of major towns including Preston and Garstang. It also concludes the account of Blackburn hundred, mostly covered in volume 6, including the parishes of Ribchester and Chipping.
A History of the County of Lancaster: Volume 8
Covers Lonsdale hundred, the northernmost part of the historic county. To the north it includes the parishes of Cartmel, Hawkshead and Ulverston (now in Cumbria). Further south it covers the parish and city of Lancaster, and the rest of the county as far south as Cockerham, where the hundred bordered that of Amounderness (volume 7).
A History of the County of Lancaster: Volume 3
The local history of most of Merseyside east of the Mersey, from Sefton in the north to Speke in the south, and including Warrington, Widnes and Ormskirk. The City of Liverpool itself is covered separately in volume 4.
A History of the County of Middlesex: Volume 3, Shepperton, Staines, Stanwell, Sunbury, Teddington, Heston and Isleworth, Twickenham, Cowley, Cranford, West Drayton, Greenford, Hanwell, Harefield and Harlington
This volume covers 14 parishes in south-west Middlesex. Among the area's extensive modern suburbs are the vestiges of the earlier agricultural villages, and the best known of the surviving large houses are Syon House, Osterley Park, and Strawberry Hill.
A History of the County of Middlesex: Volume 5, Hendon, Kingsbury, Great Stanmore, Little Stanmore, Edmonton Enfield, Monken Hadley, South Mimms, Tottenham
The volume covers 9 parishes in north and north-east Middlesex, completing Gore hundred and embracing the whole of Edmonton hundred.
