An Inventory of the Historical Monuments in City of York, Volume 4, Outside the City Walls East of the Ouse

The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments of England survey, covering settlements just outside the walls and areas of the city which only became part of the City of York in the nineteenth century. Particular attention is paid to St. Mary's Abbey and the King's Manor.
